Amazon.com Ever wonder what the girls of Sex and the City might have been like if they'd been friends since toddlerhood? Probably a lot like the appealing friends in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2, the winsome sequel to the winning 2005 film based, as is this film, on the novels of Ann Brashares. Tibby, Carmen, Bridget, and Lena are the Carrie, et al., of this yarn, which picks up in the girls' lives as they're launching into womanhood--figuring out "how to become ourselves without losing each other." The young women fight heartache and family trouble while seeking adventure in their first year of college and the summer after--and trading off a pair of what must surely be the best-traveled garment in the history of Hollywood. All the young actresses have become more famous since the first film--especially Ugly Betty Emmy winner America Ferrera (Carmen), but also Blake Lively (Bridget), Amber Tamblyn (Tibby), and Alexis Bleidel (Lena). But the film is very much an ensemble piece as all four young stars trade off their piece in the spotlight. Adventures take them to far-flung locales like Rhode Island, New York, and an archeological dig in Turkey, and the adventures and friendship continue across the miles. Above all? The Sisterhood, of course. Tibby, over lunch: "I suck at relationships. I should have been a guy." Lena: "Nah, a guy wouldn't worry about sucking at relationships." And suddenly, sisters, everything seems right in the world. --A.T. Hurley

cute January 8, 2009 Laura R. Terrazzino (Cleveland, OH) I thought it was a cute movie but missing some of the appeal of the last film.
Friendship January 6, 2009 Leather Maiden This DVD is great...a great movie to watch with your friends, especially if you're into the books.
Great scenery January 6, 2009 PDePietro (Ohio) I bought this movie for my wife for Christmas. She loved the first movie and really liked this one also. The scenery in Greece was beautiful, it made me want to actually go to Greece. My wife was happy, so that's all that matters in the end.
Love it! January 5, 2009 Lori McLendon (Fort Worth, Texas United States) What a joy to watch with your daughter of age! My daughter (25 years old) and I saw this at the movie theater and could not wait for it to come out on dvd. A feel good movie!
Good movie December 24, 2008 Kevin C. Li (Campbell, CA USA) This is a good movie. It brings a lot of happiness and tears. Three years ago, I watched the first series of this movie. This again, doesn't bring disappointment at all. It is a fully well-done movie. For the story, it is very touchy. For the acting, they are better than the first one especially for America Ferrera as Carmen. For the direction, it is all making sense and good. Finally, the visuals are good as well. Overall, great movie and I enjoyed it.
