This game is awful! July 18, 2007 Douglas Muth (Philadelphia area, USA)
It's a shame that such a cool TV show spawned such a crappy game. The graphics look very blocking and nothing like the TV show, the music is just some of the themes from the show looping over and over, and the play control is awful.
I never was able to make it past stage 4 or show, because racing around that particular level trying to destroy an APC carrier was just too hard. It's a shame, because I was hoping I'd be able to explore a virtual Mainframe and the like.

This game is great! Its a little sluggish, but it has amazing graphics. The game is so much fun. It is so lifelike. When I first played I thought it was boring, but once you beat the first level this game turns out so amusing. This game will keep you glued to the screen for hours. Take it from me this game rocks!
Skateboard challenge......... November 22, 2001 Kathryn Grover (Albuquerque, NM United States) This game has gotten a lot of bad raps, mostly for it's difficulty. However, once you understand how it works, it becomes a thrill seeking skateboard ride you could never attempt in real life. For that matter, ReBoot is THE original skateboard game, with a few twists. For instance, your board hovers slightly over the ground instead of rolling, allowing for strafing, circling, and even some "Falling with Style". And because this zip-board has a propulsion gizmo, instead of just jumping on a ramp, you can use a ramp to jump over entire sections of a level. The game even goes as far as including a nice little conveniently placed skateboard playground for practice in the first level. The game has been described before as "Tomb Raider-ish", which is understandable, however, unlike Lara Croft, who lines up neatly at the edge of a cliff and jumps a perfectly calculated jump, to win this game, you need to ACT like Bob, and basically wing it. Don't bother calculating your jumps, just do the jedi thing and act on instinct. Not only is it more efficient, but it's also more fun! Contrary to popular belief, cheat codes are not required to finish this game. Most of the levels up until Floating point can be done in one shot, therefore, save your extra lives until you get there. If you screw up, simply restart the level. Now, what did I think of this game? I loved it! The animation is incredibly smooth, the graphics are beautiful and delightfully colorful. Glow maps make the atmosphere more "high tech", while at the same time, things such as fountains, trees, and web creatures bring it a very organic look. There's even a group of levels that poke fun at Tomb Raider, taking place in a part of Mainframe that is built entirely with roman architecture. And what's a game without a sense of humor? We have a few running gags, some Chuck Jones humor, flirting, a few silly one liners, and even a cartoon-style lynching. Unfortunately, you have to play some of the levels incorrectly to get some of this humor, but it's fun anyway. Also, check out the cheat code sites for a few fun easter eggs for this game.
The movie, reality May 24, 2001 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
This game offers all a gamer could want. Theres action, a story, and best of all, a big gun. Because the game is based on the movie you get a lot of insight as to what you are supposed to do. I think this is a must for any Reboot lover.
So difficult that it can never be fun, without CHEATS! November 11, 2000 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
ReBoot is a game that tries to comphensate for its insane difficulty by offering beautifully rendered visuals, and using the actual voice talents, music and sound effects from the show, but that simply doesn't cut it.Not long after beating it, the hard way, I came across some really good codes for it on the internet. The codes I found allowed you to fly anywhere on your zip board, with no limit as to how high you can go, or for how long, which is a lot better than hovering, and more faithful to the show. You can also start the game off with unlimited ammunition for every weapon in the game, that'll smoke any bad guy or boss who thinks he actually stands a chance! You also have the ability to play as Dot or Enzo Matrix, which is an option that isn't even offered in the game without the use of the codes! So, if you're a fan of ReBoot, and you want to actually ENJOY this game, get the codes, because you'll never have fun in this game without them. Electronic Arts is well known for the amount of difficulty they put into thier games. A perfect example would be playstation version of The Lost World: Jurassic Park. It's a real shame, because their games are usually so good in every other respect. All in all, if you're a fan of ReBoot, I'd recommend getting this game, because I wouldn't count on seeing another game based on that show for a while, if at all. And if you already have it, do yourself, and your controller a favour, and get the codes!
