Product Description In Turok: Evolution, you must save the people of the Lost Land from the threat of the Biosaurs, with an all-new leader -- Turok's oldest enemy! Go all-out in intense multiplayer action!
Amazon.co.uk Review The granddaddy of console first-person shooters makes its way to next-generation consoles in style in Turok Evolution. Blast your way through velociraptors, stegosaurs, ankylosaurs, brachiosaurs, and other enemies with the most ludicrously destructive weapons ever--including variable payload cruise missiles, gravity disruptor beams, and the mighty swarm bore--and prepare to pick your jaw up off the floor when you see the devastation they cause. The graphics are utterly gorgeous: the game's 50-odd species, from harmless ickle butterflies to merciless T. rexes, are rendered in painstaking detail, and the environments are lush and interactive--plants and trees move as creatures brush through them, and you can shoot down trees to crush your enemies (or scuttle off as they try to knock piles of rocks down on you). The explosions and enemy deaths are particularly gobsmacking, and the sound effects are just as good. Thankfully, all this is backed up by great gameplay--an entirely new game engine has been developed for next-gen hardware, and though Turok Evolution is principally a first-person shooter, in certain levels you're backed up by a squad of allies, and in others you get to ride a flying dino with strap-on rocket launchers. The advanced AI means that both enemies and allies behave in a realistic manner and will adapt their tactics depending on whether you approach with stealth or force. There are over 60 stages across a variety of single- and split-screen multiplayer modes, with different difficulty levels for rookies or experts. Turok Evolution is an absolute must-have for FPS fans. --Rikki Price
Amazon.com Product Description Turok: Evolution is a prequel that takes us back to the origins of the Turok lineage. In the beginning of the game, we see our hero, Tal'Set, fighting nemesis Captain Tobias Bruckner in 1886 Texas. During the battle, a rift between their world and the Lost Lands opens and Tal'Set is sucked into it. Features and enhancements to this new installment in the Turok franchise include the groundbreaking Squad Dynamics System (SDS) for realistic enemy and allied squad AI, and an entirely new game engine built to take full advantage of the next-generation hardware platforms. All-new weapons including Variable Payload Cruise Missiles, Gravity Disrupter Beams, and the Swarm Bore--each with unique traits and damage. Flight sequences now enable players to soar through the skies on a winged pteranodon, and scripted event sequences bring the world to life with stunning detail. Turok: Evolution features 32 types of prehistoric and indigenous life rendered with frightening realism. The game is full of destructible objects and environments: shoot down trees over your enemies and collapse massive rock spires onto dinosaurs. The environments consist of lush, living jungles. Plants move as dinosaurs brush against them while trees sway in the wind. The game also includes stealth- and action-based gameplay directed by context-sensitive, mission-based sequences. Great care was also taken with the multiplayer modes, which were developed by a dedicated team of designers, programmers, and artists.

Close, but no cigar!!! February 13, 2008 Cyrus The One (Santa Barbara, CA USA) Don't get me wrong. This is a fun game most of the time. But there are problems. What are they? 1) You don't get to automatically keep weapons that you may have had in a previous level. 2) The save system is too restrictive. 3) The weapons are nice, but you frequently run out of ammo, and the game is stingy about how much ammo you will find in any one level. The weapons are fairly interesting. The Swarm Bore is almost painful to watch. You almost feel pity for your enemies. The shotgun is lame. It's inaccurate and slow to reload. 4) My one MAJOR beef with the game is the lack of a good rapid fire weapon. The few rapid fire guns there are run out of ammo way too fast! The flying levels are top notch. They are very similiar in feel to Starfox or Star Wars: Rogue Squadron. The graphics are good, but some backgrounds seem a tad blurry and low res. The sound is excellent and the music really gets you in the mood to shoot something. The control is solid, but not excellent. All in all, this is a solid bargain bin game. It's worth no more than $15.
A good game January 11, 2007 Robert Hall 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I this game is full of action. I recomend this game if you are good at shooting games. Also you can kill the animals in this one. The graphics are pretty good but it takes a while to load but it is fun to play.
Better than the PS2 version because of one reason... April 1, 2006 mr. jawsbiteme 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
And that reason is THE FRAME-RATE! The framerate in the game is probely the best you can find on any console [Serious Sam: next enounter is close second]Everything else in the game is the same. You can go with the PS2 and the XBOX versions, but this one should be your choice. The only bad thing that seprates the PS2 and the XBOX from the GAMECUBE is the loading time. It is long!!

OK i am not a kid i am 13 but 4 some reason i can not enter sign up properly so i took the Kids one.Turok:Evolution is rated M because no it has no bad language, but is full of Blood and Gore like its predessors.I hope this helped 2 Monkey Moms from Randy Orton`s(WWE wrestler) home of St. Louis,Missouri,USA.So thats why its M rated if you do buy this game for small children be informed of it nature. So still its dinosaur action horror-thriller FPS game and its fun.Hope it helped.
