GUN REVIEW FOR GAMECUBE January 7, 2009 Melody Queen (Branchland Wv) sorry im not even gonna review this because i just hated it...
i give it:
1.5/10
Great game August 4, 2008 M. Calhoun (NW) Gun is a really fun game to play all the way through. It's not difficult, even on the insane difficulty, it is beatable. It was one of the first games to come out for the 360 and I do believe the graphics could have been a lot better given the platform, but they're not bad either. The real fun in the game is exploring the open "west." There is a pretty good sized map for you to travel, (mostly by horseback unless you like walking forever) that gives the real feel of being in the old west.
The weapons in the game are pretty basic, but there is a good variety to choose from as you progress. You can also upgrade your skills and weapons through progression of the story and side missions.
It does not take very long to complete the story mode (roughly 30 hours give or take) and if you do not wish to complete any of the side missions then you should breeze through the game pretty fast. The side missions are a lot of fun, however, and I cannot imagine anyone not wanting to play through them. In addition to increasing your character's stats, they also pay money for purchase of items, and give you a little break from the story if you get stuck or are tired of it.
Great game overall!! I would recommend it to anyone who loves shooters or the old west.
Why Not More GOOD Western Games? April 27, 2008 Steven D. Hanks (Ohio, USA) GUN is by far the best western genre game since Oregon Trail. Now, let us not truly compare the two, since they are from different eras. The fact is, GUN is an excellent standard by which to compare future western games. The problem is, there are not that many in the genre. The horseback riding, the mechanics, and the entire scope of the game make the player truly feel like they are in the 1800s. Bottom line, at such a bargain price, buy GUN, you will not be disappointed.
Gun, could have been longer. March 10, 2008 Justin Michael Bell (San Francisco, CA USA) This was a very fun game with great graphics and gameplay. The only problem is that this game could have been so much LONGER! It was way too short, and I am going to be mad if there isn't a GUN II !!
A good deal at bargain bin prices July 16, 2007 gram parsons (Tuscaloosa, AL USA) Picked this up at a big box electronic retailer for 16 bucks. At that price, it is worth it. I'm glad I didn't pay 50 or 60 bucks for it when it was new, as full priced games like Gears of War and Forza 2 really put the quality of this work to shame.
However: at this price it's a fun, mindless little distraction from your better, more expensive games. Bored with Gears? Tired of racing? Gun's a nice, inexpensive way to get some shooting action in. Not as complicated as some of the other shooters out there.
I'm just sorry for the folks who bought it full price at launch.
