Moms Beware! Language bombs are not for kids! January 2, 2009 J. Amen (Idaho,USA) Overall I gave this game a generous 3-4 stars. The graphics are great, the games are great, cool missions. My 15 yr old easily mastered the flying and coordination required on the controls. Even my 4 yr old was able to fly the planes w/o crashing and is starting to get the hang of firing missles. My BIG OBJECTION is the FOUL LANGUAGE both on the audio and the printed commentary -this is clearly R-rated and unnecessary unless part of the objective is to learn to swear like a sailor. Words like: G__D___, D___, A__, Bast____, and "mother" fly nearly as fast as the bullets. We were able to turn off the commentary in audio options, but cannot clean up the on-screen words. There is something lost when you can't hear radio communication and have to read the screen instead. Is there a way to play w/o being bombed by offensive language??? Also the blood spatters on the canopy are a little gross butyou can almost ignore them because they go away and are not in your line of vision. And they're not coming from a body. I thought it was oil at first... Though the writers may have thought these things make the game more realistic, it took away some of the fun-factor for us.
Finally, a flight game on xbox with real physics May 15, 2007 M. Strickland And what better setting than the Pacific theatre where the Greatest American pilots duked it out with the best aviators of the east. Never again in history will we see airial combat in the like, and now we can be a part of it with real flight controls of roll, pitch, and yaw, the only flight game I have found on xbox with these true controls.
Incredible March 3, 2007 Hawkofva (VA, USA) This is a wonderful game with a very simple control scheme, as well as considerably nice graphics. The planes were very precisely detailed, with realistic flight mechanics and abilities unique to each fighter. The Zero really falls apart like the wood it is made of, and the Wildcat really can't turn for its life. The battles are fairly accurately set up, and you can actually learn history from playing this game. The historical missions are also a great extra, giving you the chance to play realistic situations from the accounts of real pilots, like the P-38 Lightnings intercepting the Japanese Admiral Yamamoto in his Betty Bomber. The dialogue could be better, but it does capture the general mood of the game. Finally, the sheer number of planes available is quite impressive, and once you unlock and upgrade all of the planes, you can jump from the early-war P-40 Warhawk to the post-war P-80 Shooting Star, with all of the planes between.

impossible to customize or adjust sensitivity and thus not playable
Fraustrating mess posing as a flying game March 10, 2006 Raijer (San Diego, CA USA) 5 out of 8 found this review helpful
This has to be one of the worst games I've ever wasted $30.00 on. Problems start right from the training missions. Did the designers even consult a pilot? They kept telling me I "left the flight path," yet never once was any flight path laid out or shown. It finally dawned on me that what they meant was that my plane was leaving the teeny tiny flight area of the teeny tiny map - not hard to do at all - as opposed a flight path, which is a specific vector - a straight line from point A to point B. So here I am, trying to learn how to fly this crummy plane, which has the worst flight physics I've ever encountered, and all the game designers give me is microscopic area to fly in - all the while I've got some corny "voice actor" screaming insults at me. Yeah, great fun. Unbelievably, the game actually goes down hill from here. Don't even waste your money renting it.
