the Ishimura's communications, but arrives to find a floating vessel that has become a complete bloodbath. The crew is mutilated and infected with an ancient alien scourge. Clarke's repair mission is transformed to one of survival as he fights to save himself and return the artifact to the planet at any cost.

Fight with Weapons and Telekinesis
The alien hordes are incredibly resilient. You'll have to find creative ways to neutralize the attacking enemies by shearing off limbs with powerful weapons. And when the ammo runs out you'll be thankful that you can use your telekinetic powers to pick up objects (even the aliens' own severed arms and legs) and hurl them at your advancing enemies.

Graphics, Effects, and Sound Increase the Horror
EA delivers an incredibly frightening experience with state-of-the-art graphics and effects, an audio system that will have you jumping out of your seat, and a truly horrific atmosphere that is permeated with death, mutilation, and despair. You'll have to be resilient to slash through the alien onslaught and stop this virulent scourge. As you explore the ship, the tragic story of the USG Ishimura will unfold in gory detail as you discover frantic logs from the hideously transformed crew in their final days.

OK, I know bought this game pretty late, but i didnt want to buy it brand new to be ripped of like i sometimes do with games. And well i probably wouldnt have been because of all the praise it gets. Ok, to the real stuff. i opened the wrapping for this game and my heart started pounding. ive never played this game or ever watched videos of it so its pretty fresh to me. i put it in my 1080i hdtv with surround sound. volume all the way up. lights off. start the game off. to me it was weird at first but after i got used to the controls, i almost ji**ed in my pants. it is amazing. Already have all the acheivements for it. so its on my 5 star game list. i am in depth when it comes to rating games, but no joke. 5 out of 5.

3 out of 5 stars Boyfriend-Material! lol   February 11, 2010

This was one of the things I bought for my boyfriend for Christmas because I knew he wanted it and it was really cheap for an Xbox360 game. I can't review the game itself, but he mention a few of the levels being a little overly complex, and you can only stick with this one for so long, but it was definitely worth the 20 bucks.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome SciFi Game   February 10, 2010

I was a little skeptic about trying this game out, but I am glad I did. Once you start playing you can't stop. It is also fun to play multiple times. The story line, visual and sound effects can be a little creepy when played for the first time. I would highly recommend buying this game.

Update: Be careful with description on Amazon it is inaccurate. This is not the original version as stated on picture, but the Platinum/Greatest Hits version. No change on gameplay just box art and disc states it it part of the Platinum/Greatest Hts Collection.

5 out of 5 stars A top quality production   February 9, 2010

If I were to give this game a number grade, I'd probably give it a 90.
I don't play very many games anymore. I guess I burned myself out as a kid =). But when I first started playing this game, I was really struck by how far games as come in terms of production value- this game is definitely a top quality production. Often it reminded me of Alien (the movie).

I can't say that I was really scared though. Maybe the first hour or so was scary. But after that, I'd say, for me, it was more "thriller" than "horror". I play all of my games in the dark and in the dead of night by default btw. But maybe I was prepared because just before playing this game, I finished Silent Hill Homecoming. I found that game to be much darker, much more oppressive. Dead Space had too much action for me to be really scared. Things jumping out at me can only be scary if it doesn't happen often. In dead space it's happening all the time. I go into a room, and I expect something to jump out at me... and it usually does.

Overall, I definitely enjoyed the experience.
