The Best Devil May Cry Yet! December 29, 2008 Patrick_91 (Canada) In my opinion, this is the best Devil May Cry since the 1st one. The collectors edition is a really nice deal. It comes with the game (:0) The first 5 episodes of the animated series, an offer for the 1st series DVD case FOR FREE(you pay $4 S&H) A Bonus Disc with 5 songs, backgrounds, and misc. pictures (you have to put the disc in your comp.) Oh yea and a nice metal case for it.
Now down to game play, as you all know a new character is introduced here, Nero, he plays similar, but not so similar to Dante. It is a very fun game, you do also get to play as Dante, he is a lot older and more comical than before. A definite game to pick up. It also has a very nice story, and a gripping intro (I was like 0_0 when i first seen it!)
Now with all this praise come some criticism, It is astronomically short. 1st time was 10.5 hours to beat, but every other play through was much longer (Different modes) But there is about 2 hours (give or take) Of cut-scenes.
And also, Dante was more of an after thought here (playability wise) As with him there is alot of back-tracking. Lady and Trish literally make a brief intro. Lady gets the short end of the stick here, you only see her for 20sec. and thats at the bonus ending only!! And there not playable! Oh well maybe in DMC 5 (wonder when that will hit shelves o_o )
Overall these few things should not scare you away from this amazing title!
Great Game October 14, 2008 T. Borgwardt I thoroughly enjoyed this game. The collector's edition had some nice extras and a beautiful case. Although for the extra $25, I'm not sure I got my money's worth. I've never really gotten into action games and hack 'n slashers, but this game has changed that a little. As for replay value, personally, I went through it once and beat it on normal and played a few stages on hard. I haven't touched it since, but I'm not into the whole achievements thing, so already going through the game and seeing the story was enough for me. If you like action games I definitely recommend this game. If you are kind of neutral on them I'd say give it a try, I know I loved it. Overall it was a great experience.
Too much money for too little material August 17, 2008 D. M. LEE 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
While there is no stopping dedicated fans from getting the DMC4 Collector's Edition, it is not the best limited edition box I've purchased and I don't recommend buying this one. All you really get is five music tracks and four anime episodes. Yeah it is a nice box but I think Capcom could have done a lot better. Behind the scenes/making of DMC4? Nope. Extra in-game content? Nope. Kind of a ripoff? Yeah pretty much. Unless you're totally a diehard fan with lots of money, just get the standard edition.
The Ultimate!! May 11, 2008 H. Alborno I've waited for this game soo much and didn't want to go for less than the Collector's Edition. It's worth every penny.
The game is awesome in every aspect. The more you play it, the more addicted you become to it. A 5-Star non-stop action video game for the most powerful system, the PS3.
Truely a must-have game :)
Over hyped edition May 1, 2008 Alaa S. AL Sinan (Dhahran ,saudi arabia) 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
First i am huge fan of the series, so naturally when the CE edition was offered i did not hesitate to buy it, the case of game is great i loved it but the bonus DVD,my oh my i was really disappointed with it the soundtrack, only five tracks? the game had alot of music tracks and they offered the CE at a premium price for only five tracks. and the interview it feels like youtube video slapped with some text question with director or producer they show you some of the cut scenes how they did it but really i expectd more from it. as for the game I was greatly disappointed with it they tell guest star appearance of lady and Trish, they should have said 15 seconds of lady because its that short and you play with nero most of the game which is fine then you play with dante for some levels which is great, but you cant chose dante in all of the level which was weird. the controls are easy and the graphics were great but the game does not have much replay value as the older versions i wish they offered more for me to play on a more difficulty levels to unlock costumes are not enough for replay value. as a DMC fan i expected more from this one, and as for the CE unless you want the metal case and the it' not worth it if want the anime just buy the box set. I regret buying the CE it does not feel like a CE should, the normal version would have been enough, as for the game a good fast paced solid action but with out much replay value unless you are fan of the series just rent it.
