Amazon.com Product Description Most iPod speaker systems are designed with portability in mind, but none are quite as compact as the iSymphony T-Speaker mini speaker. This tiny battery-operated stereo model--which sits directly on top of your iPod's 3.5 mm headphone jack--is about a third the size of the iPod itself, making it an ideal accessory for people who like to travel light. More significantly, the speaker lets you share your favorite iPod songs, podcasts, videos, and more with friends and without listening through a headset. The T- Speaker is particularly handy on camping excursions or European backpacking vacations, as it takes up virtually no space at all in your gear--unlike most other systems (even the portable ones). Simply drop it in your shirt pocket or stuff it in a backpack sleeve. And thanks to the gold-tipped stereo plug, listeners are guaranteed a high- quality audio transfer. The white T-Speaker, which runs for up to 10 hours on a single AA battery and includes an on/off switch to preserve battery life, is compatible with all iPods, including the nano, mini, and shuffle, and any other audio player with a 3.5 mm headphone jack. What's in the Box T-Speaker, user's manual.

Better than nothing--maybe June 20, 2007 DTM (Michigan) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I tried this on my Palm TX, hoping for something better than the built-in speaker. It wasn't.
First, prospective buyers should know that it will not work if your device has a headphone jack that is at all recessed. You simply won't be able to plug it in. To try it at all, I had to use an extender cable.
The audio quality is not very good. Clearly, you can't expect much from speakers this size and price, but I did expect better than this. The tiny speaker on the back of my PDA is almost a joke, but gives nearly as good quality.
The audio volume was also a disappointment. It's acceptable if you're sitting in a quiet room, right next to the player, but that's all. It's about what you would expect if the speakers were not amplified.
In summary, if your player has a surface-mounted jack and if you just need some way to listen without headphones, and if the sound quality is not important, it may be worth the price. But that's just too many "ifs" for me.

good product for its size.invest in rechargable batteries you can burn thru them quickly.works well when headphones are not useable
I didn't need quality - just small size January 12, 2007 DKDC (Washington, DC USA) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
and I got it. Sometimes I don't want to put the headphones on when my little daughter is with me. This thing fits on top of my pda and mp3 player and makes them both audible (more audible in the case of my pda).
Quality - ok - what you would expect from something this size. Style - forget it - look at the picture! Usefulness in certain situations - yes?
Only problem is with my pda case - when it closes it pops out the mini speaker. Radio shack will have a solution for $3.
