Amazon.com Product Description
Wake up to your iPod. The Macally TunePro is a flat panel stereo speaker with charger, AM/FM radio, and alarm clock for iPod. Wake up to your iPod, radio or buzzer. Like your iPod, it's a slim, stylish device. And functional, too--the Tunepro boasts a feature-filled alarm clock, a universal iPod dock, and a line-in jack for using other portable audio devices.

Audio Performance
The TunePro couples the latest NxT flat panel loudspeaker technology with SRS WOW technology for superior audio performance in a slim package. SRS WOW improves the playback quality of compressed audio, creating a more natural and immersive listening experience. SRS TruBass technology ensures a rich, focused low end. All in a package that looks good, too: the award-winning industrial design features an attractive front mirror screen with the Clock display beneath it. The slim profile and small footprint is sure to fit any room.

Designed for iPod
The TunePro is ready for all Apple iPod devices with 30-pin dock connector, including 1st and 2nd generation iPod nano, 4th and 5th generation iPod, iPod Photo, and iPod Mini. It features a universal well dock, with three iPod inserts included. Your iPod charges while docked, so you can listen while you charge. You can also use your iPod with the alarm clock, to wake up to the music of your choice.

AM/FM Alarm Clock Radio
As mentioned above, you can wake to your favorite tune on your iPod, or go more traditional and let the radio or buzzer do the job. The alarm features a gradual volume increase and a sleep timer function, as well as snooze for more difficult mornings. It also features dual independent alarm settings, if you need a second alarm later in the day. The clock supports 12- and 24-hour time formats, and has three dimmer display levels to dial in the ideal brightness. The radio features five AM and five FM radio presets.

What's in the Box
Macally TunePro, power supply, detachable AM radio antenna, 3 iPod inserts, auxiliary input cable

1 out of 5 stars Sounds great!   October 25, 2008

...but that's about it. It shuts down the Ipod very quickly to "save the battery" because it runs on battery while docked and playing (not cool). It shut off so well it completely froze my Ipod, so I tried letting the battery run down and when I plugged it back in it started working again, thankfully.

As obnoxious as the antenna's are they don't work that well...and I felt annoyed at the controls.

One star, the sound exceeded my expectations and the return was simple.

1 out of 5 stars Unusable as an alarm clock   August 17, 2008

I wish I would have read the previous review about the alarm clock issue before buying this...

It's not limited to using an iPod. Waking to the radio has the same problem. Within 5 seconds, this thing will be playing full blast. You have 2 options, snooze or turn the alarm off. Pressing the volume button is the same as snooze. There is no way you can wake to music because of this volume issue.

5 out of 5 stars Works abolutely pefect   July 15, 2008

Has spend quite a while trying to choose the right one. And even after I have ordered this one - I was not really sure that I have done the right thing. Not until I have unpacked it, installed and tried it. I was very pleasently surprised by the qaulity of its sound and radio reception, and absolutely excited by its looks. And very, very pleased. The overall quality is more than satisfactory. Good buy.
Btw - I am using it with both Nano3G and iTouch and works with both flawlesly.

1 out of 5 stars Don't buy if you want to use an ipod as the alarm   May 15, 2008

This product has a hugh design flaw. When you use the ipod as the source of music for the alarm clock, you can't control the volume. When the time comes for the alarm to go, the ipod turns on and the music plays with the volume rapidly rising to the full volume output. You can't control the maximum volume; thus, you will be blasted out of your bed and your neighbors will wonder why you are doing this. I called customer support at Macally and they acknowledge that this is a design flaw and there is nothing that can be done about it by the user. Save yourself the trouble--if you don't buy this you won't have to return it.

didn't work as advertisied, poorly designed, on the fritz from day we got it (maybe just a lemon) and soon stopped working (after about 2 months). STRONGLY recommend you look at the Alect Lansing iM600
