Amazon.com Product Description The Griffin iClear hard-shell case provides invisible polycarbonate protection for your iPod nano 3G. Strong enough for the daily abuse of an active lifestyle, the transparent and unobtrusive design protects the iPod with a tough, polycarbonate two-piece shell. And yet, you have total access to the iPod's control wheel, audio jack, on switch, USB port, and LED. Installation is quick and easy--the iPod drops into the iClear's front casing, and the rear section snaps into place. What's in the Box: iClear case, static peel screen protector, and premium cleaning cloth.

Some pros and cons, but I would still highly recommend... October 27, 2008 Samantha (Hampton, VA USA) I am a very very picky individual and searched high and low for the perfect case for my iPod nano. I didn't want anything colorful. In fact, I didn't want a color at all. I didn't want a skin, or a case made out of some kind of cloth-like material, or metal-like material. I didn't want a flimsy case. So as you can see, I was limiting my options as to what would be suitable for me and my iPod. One day while browsing the cases at the local Walmart, I came to the Griffin iClear Hard-Shell Case. It was exactly what I wanted; clear, hard, covered the screen, did not cover the buttons, and sturdy. There are some pros and some cons. While it is a hard case, it can break easily if you're not careful. Once you snap your iPod securely into the case, it can be a struggle to open the case. You have to use your finger nails to pop it open. I cracked the case in two places, but it still held up. I still have it protecting my iPod at this very moment. It keeps scratches from getting onto your iPod, which was a huge plus for me. Everytime I open the case, my iPod looks so great, sitting there unscratched, untouched. No fingerprints anywhere at all. All of that icky stuff is on the hard case, not the iPod itself. In comparison to my friends' iPods, who use other or no cases... mine still looks like I just took it out of the package a minute ago. I would highly recommend this case. If you're careful when opening it, it wont break. I just ordered another one, this time through Amazon. I'll be more careful this time, now that I know its limits. Mine is worn from months of rough use, but it is definitely a nifty little case and I wouldn't use any other kind. I throw my iPod around. It's been kicked, dropped, etc. and still looks great beneath the cover, so... that's what I wanted and I am very pleased with the results of the Griffin iClear.
Breaks Easily (but still pretty good) August 15, 2008 Amazon Customer (USA) I had the same problem with all the other reviewers, mine also cracked when trying to remove my iPod. I have a red iPod nano and I wanted a clear case, because I didn't want to hide the cool color with a ugly leather case. Besides the fact that the case cracks easily, it does protect my ipod pretty well from the rain, and from getting dirty. I also liked the fact that it has a sleek design and it doesn't even look or feel like I have a cover on it.
How about I open you up? no your just gonna break on me? Ungrateful piece of plastic! August 13, 2008 Mark (Delaware) what is this? i first got it and i was able to open it easily enough with a key but after awhile the front notch broke! it seems like everyones having this problem. Thankfully i figured out a way to open it without going to the screwdriver, you have to grasp the top of the case with one hand while pushing against the back notch. its actually easier open now but, im not satisfied at all with this product
Over-priced piece of junk July 2, 2008 Photo Guy (Orlando, FL) I bought this elsewhere when I got my nano. Put it on and wanted to take it off because there was a hair sandwiched between the screen and the case. I inserted a coin as directed and gently began to pry the two halves apart ........ SNAP!!!
Are you kidding me?
Nice, tight, solid case April 23, 2008 Emerson S. Cristal This is a nice, sleek form-fitting case. It's not bulky and will not "thicken" ur nano. It's polycarbonate, so it's pretty solid like external hard drives' shell.
As for it breaking, it's most likely operator error. I've taken off and put on mine numerous times without a hitch by simply following the pictured steps on the packaging - I use a nickel to "pop" it open; insert the nickel in the notch, and turn it like you would a key and voila, and no, the notch does not break that easy. There's no need to screwdriver your nano.
