Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.com Review
Old Dutch cast-iron teapots combine traditional Japanese styling and a modern aesthetic that result in very evocative shapes. Generously sized with a capacity of 38 ounces, the Nobility teapot forms a wide, flat shape, much like an upside-down bowl, balanced by a graceful spout and arching handle. The textured surface, available in a choice of colors, takes on a weathered appearance and displays bas-relief images of bamboo and pine. Perhaps a bit heavier than many teapots, the heft and visual richness lend noble contemplation to the act of making tea.

Iron teapots traditionally used in Japan are known as tetsubin, which were used to boil water as well as brew tea. However, the Nobility teapot is meant just for brewing, not for boiling on a stovetop. Old Dutch uses a specially purified cast iron for its teapots, and coats the insides with black enamel to help prevent rusting. Unlike ceramic teapots, the heavy cast iron retains heat wonderfully and won't chip. After use, the pot is best cared for when rinsed and dried by hand before storing. A stainless-steel infusing basket that hangs from the rim is included to facilitate brewing with loose tea leaves. --Ann Bieri

Product Description
This graceful Japanese-style vessel for brewing and serving tea has a 38 oz. capacity. Made of specially purified cast iron, the Tetsubin cast iron tea pot is symbolic of strength and unity. A coating of black enamel is applied to the inner surfaces to he

5 out of 5 stars great cast-iron teapot   January 6, 2009
Cinnamarsh (California)
This teapot is great for making 2 medium-sized cups of tea, and the cast iron keeps the tea hot. It's great that the teapot comes with a tea infuser for loose-leaf tea. The teapot is pretty, although the green is a little bright.

Bought this as a gift. It is so beautiful and useful we may get one for ourselves. The one we bought is green. Very nice product. We are not second guessing our decision to buy this over the others.

I love this teapot. I use it every day. It's just what I expected, and a great deal for the price. Can't find anything negative about it. It's easy to use, easy to clean, and makes just the right amount of tea for my friend and I to each have a couple of cups before bed. Couldn't be happier

4 out of 5 stars Character in Cast Iron   October 24, 2008

THis is a lovely teapot. The etching and color gives it real character. My only surprise was that the cast iron doesn't hold heat as long as I'd hoped. But it is great for brewing my loose tea and I love it's heft. Would make a great gift.

5 out of 5 stars WOW Love this tea pot!!!   October 23, 2008

My sister bought me this teapot as a gift and I absolutely love it. It keeps the tea warm for hours. It holds just the right amount of tea. Everyone that comes over to my home always says it is a pretty tea pot and then asks where I got it. I could not be happier with it. Looks beautiful, works wonderful and I will keep it forever.
