Very Happy With Set August 20, 2008 K. Wilson 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
First, I did receive the pictured cereal bowls and not soup bowls, like the other reviewers. I'm very happy with the quality of this set, these are not flimsy dishes that will break easily. I ordered these in black, and whatever I serve just seems to look WOW on this background. I look forward to owning other pieces from this company.
Waechtersbach Fun Factory Service for 4 July 16, 2008 some guy (somewhere in the usa) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a nice set. They have a wide variety of colors to choose from and the color I got looks good, especially for a solid color pattern with no graphics. Also, the shapes of the mugs and the bowls are good.
I am rating 4 stars instead of 5 because it seems that they are not microwave safe. According to the manufacturer, this dinnerware is dishwasher safe, but they don't mention them as being okay to use in the microwave. I've read reviews where people have said that they got crazing (cracks in the colored enamel layer) due to microwaving.
I don't know if this set and line deserve 3 stars instead of 4 due to not being microwave friendly, but other than this issue, they seem fine. I received broken pieces in the first shipment I received, but everything worked out fine, as amazon took care of it. Amazon gets 5 stars for resolving the issue with the broken pieces.
Great Dishes June 4, 2008 John Langner (Wisconsin USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm a little steamed that these are selling at $53.14 now, after I spent just under $100 on them about a month ago; but thats life.
While I would have said that they were a bit overpriced, they are a steal at $53.14
They are VERY nice looking, and feel solid. (Not exactly heavy, but you'll notice their weight)
The mugs however, rather ironically, are incredibly light... which I personally don't like, but it's not really a 'problem' as much as a preference.
excellent value for the price May 5, 2008 J. Roussin (midwestern USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
These plates are made in Germany by a company that has been in business for over 150 years. Why buy cheap stuff at Target that is made in China, that could very well be full of lead. The pieces are very stylish and attractive, yet simple and quite functional. I love the shade of blue; it is not too bright and garish, and dark without being too dark. The glaze is very even and of a high quality. I definitely recommend these dishes.
Beautiful, elegant placesettings February 21, 2007 Ann (West Trenton, NJ) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
This dinnerware looks rich and elegant. You can feel the quality in each piece when you hold it in your hands. I got white and I couldn't be happier, the enamel is bright and glossy and there are no imperfections whatsoever.
My clumsy self whacked a plate against the faucet and dropped a mug in the sink but not a chip. These dishes make your meals look very appetizing and are perfect for casual or formal meals. I am excited about buying more Waechterbach pieces...maybe in different colors for some pop.
